We'll be attending the decks from 10-11pm so please come down early and grab a little slice of local music history.
The first time we played the Vaults back in May 2007, you may have heard "Ladyflash" (Hot Chip Remix) and Ribside DJ's are particularly fond of The Go Team!
It's an absolute pleasure to be at the dry end of the red carpet for this event.
Thanks to Alex, Ade and big shouts to 2KoF, TaylorJ, John, Albertz & Bish at Recycled Records amongst many other good friends.
Ayez ;o)
June Is Busting Out All Over!

And now, to top it all, we're DJ'ing at The White Noise Festival in Newquay, 7-9 November! See main Page ;o)
Matt's Toffeetones 'Recliner (Volume 1) is the best thing I've heard since sliced bread popping out of a toaster. You simply have to grab a copy.

ribside has a second ep entitled 'whistle and i'll come 2u' released on WLM (itunes) including two personal favourites 'bmx tribulation' and 'adventure clerk' (the latter featuring the surrey harmony, and a crazy outro mixing cocteau twins guthrie style guitarz with the finest english female barberhop voices).
mebt (the menorcan elastic band treatment - ribside) is rating pretty respectably on WLM's 'electronic bible - chapter 3' album (itunes popularity) and still hits all the right notes (although i wish i'd upped the bpm slightly from day one).
the ribside 'solution' mix for superbass (on toolroom records) sounds as fresh as the winter weekend i did it (itunes/beatport) and that recording experience has literally changed my musical direction.
hence the 'head down' remix (itunes) for stretch 'n vern on DJ Shield's rebirth records. it sounds as mental as i've ever been in real life.... check the self-control in holding back that screaching lead, and then the 'sport for all' remix for JayP on arkade records (ben macklin's exciting new label) is as good as anything i've ever produced. strings, squeaks, bleeps, one weird noise (at the intro) and everything.
11th floor records provided me with two remix opportunities... check out 'five days' particularly, although the original is something to behold (attention bernard sumner, stratford-upon-avon).
i'm still hoping that i can one day legitimately remix a small slice of 'nick heyward's' new material (yup, the haircut100 NH). i received his blessing for the 'daring wife in london' sample from 'club boy at sea' and a complimentary mention for a stab with 'at the end of the day' but nothing much since. check out www.ribside.com for a taster of DWIL and please email me using the contact form if you wish to hear the full version. it's a belter!
nacho (everkindness) and i have almost completed the 'maximus circus' mini-album, a concept project under the name of 'the united amusement company'. it's basically a loving handful of tracks with a sincere and respectful nod to the sadly neglected 70's progressive rock giants. due for special release on c90 cassette on WLM late '08. cd to follow.
carl (ray), problem child and i continue to dj locally under the name of 'ribside dj's' and we're having the time of our lives, at least the time of our lives for a few hours on a saturday night every 8 weeks or so. carl will be playing solo at this year's 'play festival' late july under the ribz flag and the shropshire clouds.
quick ups for the following local heroes (in addition to those above)....
jash, niso, matt, tom, pinderslap, marc, ann, scouse dave, ade, simon, matty, aki, bish, marky, stee rock, chris, arthur, kaiton, seb, jim+anne, henkewa, taylorJ, louis, ross, rob next door, ben, dunc, the captain, simon, brian and patti, chris, auntie barbara et al in texas.
Toffeetones - Recliner Volume 1
If you only buy one album this year make sure it's
The Recliner Volume 1 compilation from Toffeetones.
It's an absolute classic.

The Ribside Everkindness Project
I'm delighted to say that Nacho and I are now adding the finishing touches and mastering our concept mini-album entitled 'Maximus Circus' under the working name of 'The United Amusement Company'. The finished product will be available on WLM Records Autumn/Winter 2008.
Nacho (aka Everkindness) draws his influences from Progressive rock, 70's electro and film soundtracks, creating wonderfully textured themes from his busy studio in Zaragoza, Spain.
We've both worked regularly into the early hours over the last few months to get this project sounding just like we want it.... and I particularly want it to sound comfortable and complimentary next to any Genesis, Yes or Jon Anderson tracks in my iTunes library.

Greek TV Interview
Ribside's interview for a Mysterious Art Production of "Art Uber Alles" on Greek TV (channel 19) in May saw Clive discussing his first major record deal after three decades involved in the music industry, his long-term influences and current thoughts on the UK underground scene.
